Costa Blanca
Los Montesinos

Long, long time ago. We can still remember.

It’s a real family tradition over here. We’re a whole clan of Spain lovers and already the third generation to own a second home in the sun. 1989 is the year everything jump started. Curious how that story goes? Read below!

1980s.
The era
begins.

In 1989 my grandparents visited a travelfair in Germany where they met an estate agent who was dealing in Spanish realestate. They offered sightseeing flights to the Costa Blanca where they showed the would-be home owners available plots and different types of houses.

My grandpa, a real estate aficionado, jumped on the offer and took a chance on one of the plots. The Costa Blanca in 1989 was very different from today, more rural, way less touristic and a lot different from their northern European home.

1990s.
Childhood memories.

After the house was finally finished and grandma and grandpa moved in, it didn’t take long for the curious family to come along and check out their new second home, but the verdict was very tentative at the time.

From there on out tentativeness quickly became eagerness and after that there pretty much was no stopping the Spain-lovestory.

I’ve got to spend all my childhood summers and holidays in Spain, made new friends and a lot of memories.

2010s.
Casa Delano
awakes.

After having spent all my childhood holidays in Spain, it was a sad day when my grandpa sold his house and an even sadder day when my parents decided to do the same thing, too – in favour of a generational family home in Germany, accommodating us all and to be able to keep my grandparents at home as long as possible.

But then in 2008, the financial world took a fall and things changed drastically. Prices for real estate were in free fall and would years later reach rock bottom. D an I were barely 20-ish years old and took our chance in 2011! Casa Delano was born on 14th of November 2011.

The drawing includes a labeled pool, a patio area, two cafés marked as Café 1 and Café 2, a small section with a lion drawing, and surrounding trees. The yard is enclosed with a fence, and an arrow indicates the direction to the house. Additional notes and measurements are also visible.

2020s.
The dream
continues.

We enjoyed 12 beautiful years in our Casa Delano, all the while dreaming about a “real” home away from home. Something that could be a family home, and would offer all the ameneties and space we know from home with all the advantages of the mediterranean, where we could spend longer periods of time and my parents could spend their retirement. Where maybe it would be possible to one day spend more time while working from home.

We found all this and more in our new villa. We carefully planned every detail, worked in our family team and with a lot of other professionals to reach this ultimate goal. It was a lot of blood, sweat and tears. But on 12th of June 2023 we finally did it! We moved in, and now this new era only just begun – welcome to the delano montesinos!
